Details

Experience the exotic flavours of Africa in your cup! “Parallel 12” is an exquisite arabica bean blend combining specialty coffee varieties from Ethiopia and Tanzania. The result is a luxurious coffee characterised by a gentle aroma, notes of tropical fruit, berries and flowers, as well as subtle hints of wine.

The coffee belt is a horizontal strip of land located between the Northern and Southern Tropics. Found in the space between the 25th parallel north and the 25th parallel south, the coffee belt girds the Equator, which crosses Central and South America, Asia and Africa. The countries within the area of the coffee belt are thought to offer ideal conditions for coffee plantations. This is why our specialty coffee blends are based on parallels — for the ideal coffee flavour.

The number assigned to each blend symbolises the difference between the highest northern and the lowest southern parallels located in a given continent and belonging to the coffee belt. That’s how three coffee blends of the highest quality were born: “12” from Ethiopia and Tanzania, “17” from India and Papua New Guinea, and “36” from El Salvador and Brazil.

Ingredients: roasted coffee beans.

Storage conditions: store in a dry, cool place.

Operation & Care

What brewing methods are these coffee beans suited for?

The “Parallel” line of coffees is roasted in a way that makes it suited for all brewing methods, be it a filter coffee maker, an espresso machine, or infusing straight in a cup.

Where is this coffee roasted?

This coffee is roasted by our partners in Lithuania, in one of the finest local roasteries.

Can I brew this coffee in a French press?

Yes, you absolutely can! In that case, we recommend choosing a grind that’s a bit coarser than medium.

How much acidity is there in the flavour of this coffee?

This blend of Ethiopian and Tanzanian coffees is marked by notes of tropical fruit, berries and flowers. There’s a subtle hint of wine too. It definitely does have some sweet acidity, which is valued so highly by coffee connoisseurs (be careful not to confuse the pleasant fruitiness of fine coffees with the excessive acidity of low-quality beans though!). This coffee will definitely appeal to passionate coffee enthusiasts, as well as sworn fans of African varieties.

Are there larger packs available?

Yes, there’s a 1-kg pack available too: https://www.coffeefriend.eu/p/coffee-beans-parallel-12-1-kg/.
