BURRS

Manufactured in Europe, the 40-mm conical burrs grind coffee at a speed of 1.5 to 2.4 g/s, depending on the setting. However, what really sets the “Virtuoso+” burrs apart is that they produce an extremely uniform grind, with a distinct lack of fine particles across its grinding range. These burrs are perfect for espresso, filter, manual brewing methods, as well as the French press. They’re durable and remain sharp for many years. The burrs have a precision mounting system to ensure a stable platform for accurate grinding.

GEARBOX

“Virtuoso+” utilises a simple and efficient direct drive gear reduction transmission to move power from the DC motor to the rotating burr. The thermal overload cut-out protects the motor from overheating due to excessive use — remember, this grinder is meant to grind a dose at a time for home use!

GRIND ADJUSTMENT

With 40 settings accessed by turning the hopper, you can quickly go from fine grind for espresso to coarse grind for the French press. The grinding range varies from 200 to 1200 microns.

LITTLE TO NO GROUNDS LEFT IN GRINDER

To maximise freshness, “Virtuoso+” minimises the amount of ground coffee left in the grinder.

BREWING METHODS

“Virtuoso+” is a great multi-purpose grinder suited for numerous brewing styles, from espresso or filter method all the way to the French press.

MOTOR

A powerful, high-torque DC motor effortlessly drives the burrs. This motor turns slowly, resulting in cool, quiet operation, and allows for long grinding cycles. The circuitry is equipped with an automatically-resetting, thermal cut-off switch. 

DIGITAL TIMER

The motor is controlled by a 40-second digital timer adjustable to the tenth of a second, which allows for repeatable dosing.

CALIBRATION

An innovative burr calibration system ensures that each grinder is capable of producing the full grinding range. If necessary, the grinder can be user-calibrated too.

SPEED CONTROL

“Virtuoso+” uses a combination of gear and electronic speed reduction to control the rotation of the burrs all the way down to 550 RPM. A speed this slow reduces heat, noise and static generation in the grinder. It also helps beans feed smoothly into the burrs.
