In the Motagua Valley, high in the Guatemalan mountains, lies the remarkable El Gigante Estate, named after the mountain on whose slopes it rests. Established in 1994, this coffee estate boasts a unique microclimate suited perfectly for slow, flavour-dense maturation. Led by Osvaldo Suchini, El Gigante is celebrated for its dedication to quality, innovation, and community. It’s where traditional know-how comes together with modern processing techniques to create coffees of a truly remarkable character. This particular lot is an excellent example: it’s been co-fermented with “mosto”— a fermented juice derived from earlier batches of coffee—producing a particularly intense aroma, and enhancing the fruity flavour of the beans even further.
